Remixing the human in healthcare

Let's Talk

Why remix?

Because what we gained in data, we lost in trust. Somehow, in the process of trying to care for more people, we began to lose sight of each person. Our clinicians became cogs in the system. Patients became consumers. The digital revolution promised efficiency, but delivered it at the cost of empathy and trust. There’s a sickness in the heart of industrial healthcare, and it won’t be cured by more of the same. Something’s got to give — and it can’t be our dignity.

Who I Am

I’m a writer, strategist, and former health system executive exploring how empathy, design, and technology can make care feel more human.

For nearly two decades, I helped lead digital transformation inside one of the nation’s largest health systems. Now, I advise organizations and write about what it takes to rebuild trust, meaning, and connection in modern healthcare.

What I’m Working On

  • Advising: Partnering with health systems and civic organizations to design more human-centered digital experiences.

  • Writing: Exploring how empathy, design, and AI are reshaping the future of care and what that means for trust.

  • Speaking: Sharing ideas on the role of technology, storytelling, and ethics in modern healthcare.
